| Backflow Preventer |
A part with backflow prevention contains a device (generally similar to a damper), which prevents cold air from entering from the outside back into the unit. Cold air entering the unit can freeze and/or damage your tankless water heater. Some water heaters have backflow prevention built into the unit itself, so it's always a good idea to check your install manual to determine if a backflow preventer in the venting run is required. |
